Debra A. Neiman, CFP®
Debra is principal of the firm. She specializes in investment, retirement, and tax planning issues for individuals and families, both traditional and non-traditional. Debra has over twenty years experience in the financial services industry, most recently as a partner at Neiman-Maloy Financial Group, Inc. in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Prior to launching her own practice, Debra was a personal financial planning counselor with Tofias, Fleishman, Shapiro & Co. in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Debra is a Certified Financial Planner licensee and is Past President of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts. Debra is also a co-founder and member of the board of directors of PridePlanners™, a non-profit organization that provides professional development, networking, and resources for financial advisors who serve nontraditional couples and families.
Debra co-authored the book Money Without Matrimony: The Unmarried Couple's Guide to Financial Security, published by Dearborn in 2005.
Debra had been appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor of Financial Planning at Bentley College and was an adjunct faculty member at Boston University. She has taught financial planning courses at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education and conducted employee education seminars for one of the nation's leading providers of retirement plans.
Debra has been quoted in numerous publications including The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Newsweek, and Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine. She has also been featured on many personal finance websites, radio programs, and television shows, including Forbes.com, National Public Radio, and Unscripted With the Dolans.
Debra is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and Nazrudin, an industry think-tank that focuses on money and meaning.
Debra received an MBA in finance from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester and a BS in finance from the Jacobs School of Management at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Additionally, she received a Diploma in Financial Planning from Boston University.
Debra lives in the Boston area with her partner, their daughter, two Corgis and two bad cats (all rescued). When she is off-duty, Deb pursues her interest in encaustic painting (painting with beeswax) and is a member of New England Wax, a group of professional encaustic painters.
